Twenty years after the introduction of Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the topics of access to government information and protection of privacy sit squarely in the "spotlight" of public attention. Media reports on government accountability and transparency and the protection of personal information - or failures to protect it - appear almost every day. Unprecedented advances in technology, new service delivery models and increasing citizen engagement continue to drive these changes to the access and privacy landscape. To provide our citizens with the highest quality service, we must develop new ways to show this evolution in our programs.

The theme for this year's Access and Privacy Workshop "From the Shadows to the Spotlight" - reflects this reality. We will examine current and emerging issues in access and privacy while continuing to provide a comprehensive introduction for those new to the field.

Attendees will benefit from a broad range of expertise from within Ontario's broader public sector, other jurisdictions and the private sector.

Public sector access and privacy professionals across Ontario and Canada are invited to join us to share ideas, challenges, accomplishments and opportunities for continued success in this dynamic area.

Join your colleagues today and open the doors to new and exciting ideas in the world of access and privacy! Register now and save with the early bird special of $299.00 (valid until October 2nd, 2009).
